Statement Regarding Office of the Governor visit to Fairmont City - Impacting PM Bus Routes for Today, Monday 10/20/25
Dear Kahok Family.
This afternoon, the Collinsville School District was informed that Governor Pritzker will be speaking in Fairmont City regarding the impacts of Rebuild Illinois. Due to the Governor’s planned visit this afternoon, there may be road closures that impact certain bus routes within the village of Fairmont City. Please note that scheduled afternoon student drop-off times may be delayed and alternate stop locations may be necessary as directed by the Governor’s security detail.
We apologize for any inconveniences and appreciate your cooperation as we work with the Governor’s office and the Fairmont Police department for the safe transport of your children from school today.
As a reminder, you may track your child’s bus real-time location and progress using the FirstView 1.0 app
Sincerely,
Mark B. Skertich
Superintendent of Schools
Fairmont City stops are impacted. If your student has a Fairmont City bus stop, parents/care givers will need to report to either 38th & Cookson OR 38th & Maple, let the driver know which child(ren) you are meeting. This will help the student know which stop to get off the bus at. Thanks!!
