Twin Echo Elementary School psychologist Brent Schwierjohn was recognized today as May 2026 Kahok Educator of the Month. 

The award was presented by Twin Echo Principal Dr. Julie Haake and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg. 

In her nomination of Mr. Schwierjohn, Dr. Haake wrote:

"I would like to nominate Brent Schwierjohn for May Educator of the Month. As our school psychologist, Mr. Schwierjohn has gone above and beyond throughout this school year. He stepped in to take on the responsibilities of a staff member on medical leave, doing so with professionalism, flexibility, and a student-first mindset.

Mr. Schwierjohn is a consistent source of support for our teachers, approaching even the most challenging decisions with care and a focus on what is best for students. In my absence, he willingly rearranges his schedule to ensure that the needs of Twin Echo teachers and students are met.

In all the years I have worked with Mr. Schwierjohn, he has never had to reschedule a meeting due to his own absence—a testament to his reliability and dedication. He is always prepared, dependable, and committed to helping us provide the best possible education for our students."
