Dear Kahok Families,

As we move further into the school year and fall weather arrives, I want to take a moment to share a few important reminders and updates.

Attendance Matters

Every school day matters. Students learn best when they are at school and on time each day. Regular attendance helps students make the most of their school experience by keeping up with their classes and staying connected with teachers and friends.

We understand that illness, family emergencies, and other situations sometimes require a student to miss school. However, when possible, please make every effort to have your child at school and ready to learn each day. Being present and being on time are two of the best things students can do to succeed.

Honest Conversations

Please also take a few minutes to talk with your child about what is appropriate and what is not appropriate to bring to school. Some items do not belong in our schools and can create safety concerns or distractions. Sharing a consistent message at home and school keeps us on the same page.  A simple conversation at home will reinforce students making good choices and help them understand the importance of following school expectations on a regular basis.

Open Lines of Communication

If you have a question, or something you just think we need to know, please reach out. We are here to help and want to address issues early. We take every concern seriously and want to work together to address issues before they become bigger challenges.  After all, it takes a team effort between home and school on a daily basis to ensure our students continue to thrive.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner.  Please schedule a time to discuss your child’s academic and social progress on Thursday, October 29, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or Friday, October 30, from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.  It is important to connect with teachers to discuss your child’s progress so far this school year.  Simply put, we want to see you!

Upcoming Events and CHS Theatre Performances

There are many events happening across our schools in the weeks ahead. Our students and staff are preparing for upcoming concerts, athletic events, performances, and other activities that allow our students to share their talents with the community.  You can find announcements listed in school calendars and communications.

I want to highlight the upcoming CHS theatre production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.   This is a performance your family and friends do not want to miss.  Tickets are on sale now.  Here are links to purchase tickets for the following dates:

Reminder: There is no school Monday, October 12, in observance of Columbus Day.  Enjoy the three day weekend.

Thank you for your constant dedication to our students.  Don't forget to wear your purple and show your Kahok Pride!
