Webster Elementary School Secretary Shelia Shea Honored as October 2026 Kahok Educator of the Month

Webster Elementary School secretary Shelia Shea was recognized today as October 2026 Kahok Educator of the Month.

The award was presented by Webster principals Alison Schumacher and Stephanie Pulse, and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.

In their nomination of Mrs. Shea, Mrs. Schumacher and Mrs. Pulse wrote:

"Sheila is so much more than a secretary. She is truly the heart of Webster! She goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that our students, staff, and families are happy, healthy, and taken care of. Our students absolutely adore her, and it's easy to see why! Whether a child needs a Band-Aid or simply a friendly face, Sheila is always there. She has a special way of making students feel safe, loved, and important. She knows our students and cares about their well-being. For many of our Cardinals, she is a familiar and comforting face they can count on every single day.

With an incredible work ethic, Sheila wears more hats than we can count! From secretary to nurse, custodian, problem solver, and everything in between, there is nothing she won't do for our Webster family. She takes initiative without hesitation, even arranging substitute coverage before the principals have to ask! She has built wonderful relationships with our substitutes, recognizing just how important consistency and familiar faces are for our students. Sheila has a way of anticipating needs, handling challenges, and keeping things running smoothly, making the principals' jobs easier in more ways than she probably realizes! She rarely misses a day, stays late when needed, and is so dependable that even the bus company has her personal phone number!

What makes Sheila truly special is that no matter how busy her day gets or how many directions she is pulled, our students always remain a priority. Her dedication, selflessness, and genuine love for the children and staff at Webster shine through in everything she does. We are incredibly fortunate to have Sheila, and we couldn't think of anyone more deserving of this recognition!"
